New vs QNew

I've noticed that creating a new drawing with any method that involves the default setting for QNew takes a lot longer that using New and selecting the same Template. Has anyone else noticed this?

BTW. I started a new template for 2020 from the OOTB NCS imperial .DWT and imported styles and settings from 2019. But I don't think it's the template since it opens nicely with the New command.

Allen, I just checked and using New or Qnew results in the new drawing being ready for edit in nearly identical, quick, times.

I agree with @Jeff_M , since QNew was introduced I use it to start new drawings. Typing QN for new drawing is quicker than any process requiring me to respond to a prompt.

So it seems it must be something in my template or my installation. Possibly the way the software hits the server.

Our templates are stored on a mapped drive on a server. I don't maintain or configure our server so I have no clue if anything there has a bearing. I only use and install C3D (2015 though 2020) and 3D map with out raster design or any additional country kits, etc. on a win7 machine. You might try uninstalling any addons and subprograms to see if any of those are involved.

Looks like I'll have to do some testing when I have time. Until then I'll keep using NEW.
