Need help installing a plug-in

I have 3 plug-ins that I used in C3D2016. I have recently upgraded to 2017 and want to install those plug-ins again in 2017. (I still have 2016 installed). When I double-click the .msi file it says I already have it installed. I have tried un-installing and re-installing the plug-ins while having a session of C3D2017 open, but with no luck. The installer runs each time, but I am not seeing the "Add-ins" tab like I had in my 2016 version. Any ideas?

A 2016 add in will not install into 2017 (it doesn't know how since 2017 didn't exist at the time it was created). Depending on the programming language it written in, it may or may not load/function correctly when attempting to start manually.

If the application has a .arx extension it will not run in 2017, if it has a .dll extension it may run (probably .NET language) but still may not behave correctly since it may be looking for 2016 resources (depends on what the add in does).

In addition to what Mike advised, check with the author(s) of the plug-ins to see if they have a 2017 compatible version.

The developers website says it will run in 2017.

Here is the solution:

There is an Autodesk Hotfix for 2017 for the App Store programs. See link below.
