Multiple Layer Filters

I cant get multiple layer filters to work correctly, is this a known bug?

I want to filter all civil 3d layers and all xref layers. Therefore I have used ~C-* to filter the civils layers and ~*xref* to filter the xref layers (our naming convention uses xref in the title). Individually they work well, when added to the same filter it seems to ignore the xref one.

Any help much appreciated.

Have you filtered the xref first?

I’m a bit coy: I thought the tilde was “not”?

Any suggestions, it seems a to be yet another bug!

Interesting, I just tried it and discovered the same thing.  I made a filter with two entries:

~SF-*  (excludes all survey Surface Feature layers)

~XSEC*  (excludes all corridor x-section styles)

The first entry worked - all SF-* layers were excluded.  The second entry is ignored.

I've also tried it with different entries, and in different orders.  Any entry after the first exclusion is ignored.

Interestingly, the second entry doesn't have to be an exclusion.  I tried this:

~XSEC*

TF-SIGL-*

Hoping it would exclude all XSEC layers and show only the TF-SIGL- layers.  Didn't work.  The second entry to show only the TF-SIGL- layers was ignored.

So only one exclusion filter criteria can be applied at a time.

To get a filter with included and excluded layers you have to have a sub filter for the exclusions. Each additional exclusion requires another sub filter. A real PITA but that's the way this cookie crumbles.

Thanks, making another sub filter seems to be the only way to build up filters.  I don't suppose a suggestion to solve this will get much attention?!
