Multi Line and Curve Segment Lable Number Sequence Settings

When labeling polylines that the sequencing of the label numbers will skip for lines when it passes through an arc but not the other way around. I would like it to skip for both lines and arcs.

Example: If I have a polyline with the segments in the order of:

line, line, line, curve, curve, line, curve, curve, curve, line

- I get the following label numbers.

L1, L2, L3, L6, L10

C1, C2, C3, C4, C5

- Would like the get the following.

L1, L2, L3, L6, L10

C4, C5, C7, C8, C9

I see were your getting at but they work independently of each other. I don't believe it's possible without added programing.

I feel like there may be a setting of some kind since the line segments are already reacting to the arcs, but not the arcs to the lines as shown in the first output.

Seems like most styles have name templates and I was hoping for something similar for the segmentlabels.

I tried looking in the windows below, but not sure where else settings for this could be:

Your third image is why I say it's not possible. Labels for Lines and curves have always counted independent of one another all the way back to the Softdesk days. In the alignment the name counter is just for object creation. Lines and curves don't have that. Infact to this day you still can't have a L1,L2,L3...... And a W1,W2,W3 in the same drawing even though they represent different lines.

This has been an issue forever.  You cannot label line segments and arc segments at the same time, the numbering will always be thrown off sequence if you tag a curve in-between lines...

Unfortunately, you need to get good at renumbering. Our rule is only use tables/tags when you have to. Maybe bring it up on... Subject: We would love your feedback on AEC Answer Day!
