Hi Madhu,
Look for "Landing Gap".

Multileaders are core AutoCAD objects.

You might try asking in the AutoCAD Forum.

That said, I cannot find a setting to control this.

A work around is to format the text as Stacked:

no Lower; Tolerance: Center; 100%

Upper example is standard.

Lower example uses Tolerance

(You can adjust the vertical spacing of the second line by tweaking Text: Line space factor.)

The "Tolerance" spaced label is a bit loose for my taste, but it may be what you are looking for.

Note: If 'thick' text running into the underline is your problem, that is much less an issue with TrueType fonts.

Good Luck!

You can do it under limited circumstances. Set the multileader to under line the bottom line. Edit the text and turn on paragraph spacing, for the bottom line only if you have multiple lines. It will double the space (approximaly) but you will be limited underlining only the bottom line. Use the right click menu or set mtexttoolbar to 1 for the toolbar if you don't have it.

I think that Thea doing is fixed and not adjustable. If you look at underlined True Type text (Arial) in a different.app you will see that the underling is different.

I have read online that controling Multi-Leader gap spacing for underlined text is number 13 in AutoCAD’s ‘To Do’ list.

Good for you though, the first 11 were completed this morning. My request, number 12, is already underway: To make AutoCAD pour a cup of coffee for a user while he waits for AutoCAD to fire up in the morning.

Please be patient Gap spacing will be next.

Hi,

I've been looking for a solution to this myself and your post prompted me to have another look and I found something that works although I didn't find a way to control the gap distance.

In properties palette just change the Line Space Style from At Least to Exactly.

After you apply the setting you can use Matchprop if you need to apply it to others.

This looks like clean solution, @doben..

Unfortunately, I can't make it work. (Civil 3d 2022.1.1)

I have attached a file. Maybe you can see what I am doing differently.

I also noted that the underline gap is larger when the text included a letter with a descender.
As a work around, include the lower case J (j) and set it to a very light color (255,255,255)

It will force the line somewhat lower.

The MLEADER gap is really not the same as the as MTEXT underline spacing as shown below.
The MLEADER Tolerance trick is also illustrated for comparison:

As shown below, AutoCAD does underline of TRUETYPE test differently that MS Word:

Hi @ChrisRS,

The Left/Right Attachment has to be set to Underline Bottom Line.Multileader Style.png

 BTW, there's a new C3D update (2022.1.2)
