MText Insertion

Using C3D 2019, when i insert a new piece of Mtext, as soon as I issue the command, the USC changes to 'Unnamed' and the view cube reflects this. The Mtext is always inserted horizontal to my view, regardless of UCS or view twist. Once the Mtext in inserted the UCS returns to WCS. I never thought much of this behavior until i tried setting the rotation of Mtext numerically on insert. The rotation goes relative to the unnamed usc. I have a coworker next to me whose system does not do this. His UCS remains intact when inserting Mtext and the texts comes in aligned to the WCS. I can not, for the life of me, find the setting controlling this behavior. Has anyone seen this?

Also the text style I am using is non-annotative, so 'Match text orientation to layout' is not, indeed could not, be checked.

Set UCSDETECT to 0 and UCSFOLLOW to 0.

Good thinking, i hadn't considered USC Detect.

Unfortunately, i just checked it, and it is set to 0. As is USCFollow.

Set that style to annotative and I bet it goes away. I struggle with a few that don't use annotative text and beat my head daily as to why you wouldn't

I would love to change the style to annotative. However, the CAD standards I am working in call for fixed height text. Antiquated as it may be, I do have to follow them.

Hey @cselingo,

You mentioned in a previous post that it works at you expect on a co-worker's machine. Have you tried using whatever template they're using or importing their user profile on to your machine? I'd also check if the two of you are running the same updates.

If it's still acting differently after the above maybe resetting to defaults can get it working for you.

Hey @cselingo,

Any luck with this one? Were you able to get it working like your co-workers?
