Moving points using provided northing/easting coordinates

Hello -

I've never had this problem before.  I recieved field surveyed coordinates and would like to move points to the correct location.  The base drawing was provided to me by a surveyor and is in the correct coordinate system.  I've put locations on the excact drawing in the past.

For some reason I no longer can move these points to the correct location by typing in the northing/easting.  I can point to the exact location with my cursor but the point ends up no where near the correct location.

Setting problem?

Thanks

J,

Welcome to the Forum.

Need more information. Please elaborate on "move points to the correct location". Did you try the ALIGN command?

In the past i was able to simply use the move function followed by entering (typing) in the northing and easting coordinates.

So I would snap and use the move function from the center of the object, in this case a circle.  Type in the coordinates 194, 80 and enter.  The point ends up no where near the correct location.

I think it might be a units/settings problem but I can't correct.

Thanks

Nothing has changed in that respect. Please post your drawing and show what you want moved and to where, so we can test it.

Before I figure out how to post the actual drawing maybe this will help.  Is it defaulting to displace the point at an angle even if I type in the NE coordinates?  It may be a simple fix but this suddenly changed on me.

J,

OK, I see. Default asks for distance and angle. If you type a # in front of coordinates, it will work as you want it to. Thusly: "#5000,5000" will move the circle to 5000,5000.
