Move subassembly from C3D to SubAssembly composer

Hello,

This is my issue:

1. I created and saved an assembly is "sub assembly composer" (SAC)

2. I successfully imported the assembly into C3D.

3. While doing some minor edits in SAC, my computer screen turned black and I had to force a computer restart.

4. When I went back to open the SAC file, i received an error message stating "Invalid .pkt file.  The packet is missing a .dll file.  Only .pkt files created in Autodesk Subassembly Composer are accetable."

5.  I still have the assembly in the C3D, is there a way to move/copy/export the assembly from C3D back to SAC?

thanks for the help

I've never heard of a way to accomplish this. Hopefully your IT department has implemented a good file recovery process that will allow you to restore a previous version of the .pkt file.

Is it possible that PKT was created in 2024 and you're using it in an older version of Civil 3D? That will cause that error.

Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a way to create the PKT from a Subassembly in a drawing. I researched that last year when I lost a PKT file. I had to recreate it from scratch.

Hello.  I haven't changed the version of C3D or SAC and everything has been smooth for a long time.  Apparently, the power outage or computer glitch caused the malfunction (file corruption?) because I do have a *,dll file in C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\C3D 2021\enu\Imported Tools but for some reason SAC does not access it when I try to open that specific assembly file.  I am able to open other *.pkt files.
