Mesh to Civil 3d

Hello, everyone! I need some help, how can i import my mesh which is in .obj file to my Civil 3D. I tried to converted and import with .3ds and .dxf, but with no success. At the screenshot you can see my mesh in Meshlab

Do you have 3ds Max? You can import .obj, then export it to FBX, then import the FBX into Civil 3D.

what are you trying to do with it in Civil 3D?

do you have access to any other Autodesk products?

I'm trying to generate tin surface from 3d faces

Looking at your screenshot you may have difficulty using the 3d faces in Civil. You will need to ensure that there are no overlaps where triangles are coincident in plan but have different z values.

If the mesh is as shown in your image attachment, it's not a candidate for a TinSurface anyway! TinSurfaces are open triangle meshes where no planes live on top of another, and no XY has multiple Z's.

You should post your .OBJ mesh file so someone may be able to import it as a CAD mesh and possibly convert it to a 3dSolid for you.

Be sure not to confuse TIN Surfaces with vanilla CAD surfaces - they are totally different

Currently looking for a resolution to this post. If we receive a 3D mesh assortment of files (.fbx, .obj, .ply, .mtl) what is the work flow to generate 3D faces in C3D and create a TIN surface from it? I have access to multiple autodesk products.

Is there a .DWG export option in 3DS Max?

This would seem like the most intuitive way.

I can't remember ever using this myself, mind you.
