Match Alignment to Polyline

Hi guys,

I'm working in a project and I like to match the alignment to a polyline. 

Blue line-Alignment

Red line-Polyline

I'm attaching a file as example of my task.

Trace the tangents with Autocad lines & fillet them at the PI.

Grip Edit the highlighted PI to the proposed PI.

Add a curve between the tangents which matches the radius of polyline using the Alignment Geometry editor curve tools.

I used to do that for parcel, but the alignment couldn't do that.

I'm not used to edit curve in the Alignment Geometry, there are a lot of options and I'm lost.

Sorry but I don't understand very well what to do.

I see the dwg has a little different scenario.

See attached, I added a PI & then a curve matching the radius of polyline circle.

First a PI needs to be added.

Then a Free curve fillet.

The stationing will be eliminated where the gap is created by deleting the line, but comes back when adding the curve to fill the gap.

My label station wasn't come back when I added the curve. I don't know what's happening. And there isn't gap in the alignment.

I'm trouble to move the alignment and make a corridor from intersection.

I'll be really happy if you help me to fix them.

You're targeting the Greide  INT RETORNO-4 (2) profile in the Corridor and the Profile starts waaay beyond the portion of the alignment the corridor targets.

This is causing a hole in your Corridor surface.

Grip edit the Layout profile start station to the appropriate start station, correct the finished ground profile and the hole in corridor surface will disappear.

But I haven't fixed the problem yet and I need help.

About the alignment.

I don't know how to fix the surface.

@F.Camargo, as @Jay_B said, you need to edit the profile in the ProfileView that is out of whack. Rather than grip edit, I would draw 2 lines, one on each side of the current profile, from the start of the 'good' corridor profile to the start of the profile that is too short, then from end of that profile to the end of the corridor profile....the 2 green lines shown here:

Then use the Convert line to profile button and select the 2 green lines:

Then rebuild the corridor and watch the profileview correct itself:

For the intersection, between the 2 alignments, you may need to edit the Surface and Add lines to connect the 2 alignment centerlines.

I'm not seeing a green polyline in the dwg you provided.

If in you situation the labels are gone use the edit tool bar and reverse the subentity

Corridor problem was solved!! 🙂

Now I'm going to fix the alignment problem. I have to move the PI's to to green line.

Hi Joe,

Reverse the subentity isn't working.

@F.Camargo, delete the arc entity near the new green location from the alignment. Explode the polyline. Convert the arcs of the exploded pline to alignment entities, add new alignment line entities by drawing them between the arcs, reverse the arc(s) as needed.

Here's a screencast that I didn't start until after deleting the arc entity but should clear up any questions.
