Manhole Invert Directions - Any way to change when N becomes NE?

Dealing with a city reviewer on a project.  Some manholes that are called out with a N invert, for example, are close to being NE, but not quite there.  The reviewer as adamant that these become NE.  I have tried to point out that these are not there, but technically North, that didn't go well.

I really don't want to do a text mask, as each manhole is reflected on multiple sheets, with then a corresponding  structure table.

Any way to change how that direction works?  Or is this a hill I am going to have to die on?

Are you talking about a situation like the 2 images of the same manhole in different views? I have had to put a compass rose on manholes to demonstrate to reviewers that the headings shown by the program are correct. Worst case, right click the label and pick Edit Label Text (also found in the ribbon)instead of using wipe outs. The edits can be cleared in the right click menu or ribbon if needed.

You can use the "Edit Label Text" command after selecting the label in question and add the "E". Seems easier than trying to get your point across to a stubborn reviewer. Been there, done that. Not worth the trouble.

The problem with the Edit Label Text, is it edits ALL of the inbound pipes, then I still have to deal with the tables.

I could be wrong on both a software and a mapping front but isn't anything that is inside quadrant 1 NE?

89.9 degrees of east is technically NE . I did not know there was a tolerance off east or north to qualify .????

You probably ain't doing it right. I am not adjusting the label style just using the command from the ribbon.

@Anonymous  When there are multiple incoming pipes your method will change the direction for all of them...

Don't know what to say. I have used this method for years and have had no issues even with expressions. Guess I have been VERY lucky that i have only dealt with manholes with one incoming pipe for all these years......LOL

I think it can be done via an elaborate workaround, but I don’t have a computer to test at the moment! Here is my train of thought:

1. I would keep the direction as an independent component separate but attached to the invert info.

2. Get the pipe bearing angle and set precision to show degrees only

3. insert a block component made up of a wipeout. Attach this component in such a way that it covers (on top of) the Bearing degree value.
4. you should be left with the start and end info of the connected pipe bearing info

Assuming north is anything between 22.5 degrees west and 22.5 degrees east. If your direction falls within here I would die on the hill. The reviewer is wrong.
