Link that connects two points from different sides.

Hi,

In a regular link, elevation target can be set to only one side. and the elevation of the other side will be based on the design profile.

I want a link that ignores the design profile and connects two points from each side (offset and elevation).

I’m assuming this can be done in Subassembly composer.

any suggestion would be helpful.

Isn't that what a mark-point and link to mark-point does

Thanks for your post. Could you be more precise on how desire subassembly should work?

As I understand you want to connect two points(one on the left, another on the right side of the assembly) with one link. Do you want to use a subassembly point to anchor that link on one side and target it to the feature line/polyline/alignment/etc on the other side? If so, the best solution - thank you @Joe-Bouza  - would be to use Marked Points and LinkToMarkedPoint subassemblies.

However, Marked Points and LinkToMarkedPoints need to have a specific workflow. To automate this little better, I've created a sample subassembly - not sure if I understood your needs correctly.

Be aware to place Marked Points and set their codes before you use LinkPoints custom subassembly.

Although, I would like to know more about your idea. Maybe you can prepare for us a simple sketch to picture the idea better? If we would know better, we can try to find a better solution.
