Licensing Issue

We have LDT 2004 and Civil Design 2004 installed via a deployment image that
gets licenses from the server. For now I'm the only one that is going to
install Civil 3D. I just did a stand alone install of Civil 3d and when I
open it I get a message that says Autodesk Civil 3D 2004 requires that
Autodesk Civil Design 2004 is authorized first. Please authorize Civil
Design 2004. For more info, please refer to your documentation. Autodesk
Civil 3D 2004 will now exit.

So do I have to load this on the network to be able to use it or what am I
doing wrong.

I am in a similar situation. I just went ahead and installed on the network
and everything works fine. Other than crashing every couple of minutes.

I hope AutoDesk has a deal with Microsoft on getting crash reports. My
AutoDesk crash reporter doesn't seem to be working so all of the information
is going to Microsoft instead.
