Labels Won't update When Scale Changes

Hi,

I'm using C3D 2016 and a problem has started happening:

Whenever I change the annotative scale none of the C3D labels update to reflect the new scale. I did some testing and started a brand new drawing and in it created an alignment with stationing. I changed the scale, added a Station & Offset label and it showed correctly but the alignment stations held the size of the previous scale. I changed the scale again and added another label and it showed correctly but not the others. I now had labels representing 3 different scales. If I dragged any of the labels they would update to match the current scale.

I tried  regen and nothing happened. But if I first dragged one of the labels then did a regen everything would update - that's the only way I can get everything to update.

As a further test I added some regular AutoCAD annotative objectss and they worked fine whenever I changed the scale.

I've rebooted ny computer and SP1 has been installed.

This is happening on all files I've opened the same files using C3D 2014 and it works fine.

Any help much appreciated..

Try turning off Hardware Acceleration, or at least that is my default answer to try for graphics issues.

There is a bug with 2016 that causes some C3D labels to not scale properly.

Apparently the forums aren't working correctly. I can't see the list of screencasts. Here is at least a link to a screencast show that in 2016 point labels do not scale propertly.

Yet another reason to avoid the disaster that is C3D 2016.

Thanks for the reply. In response to Civil3dReminders, it is not hardware acceleration.

One possibility I can think of for this happening  is I recently modified the Default Scale List. Everything was working fine before.  I'm using the metric version of C3D and also have the Imperial version installed. The Imperial version works fine - I didn't modifiy those scales.

Have you tried reloading the scale list

I am having the same issue... using metric template c3d... stationing on alignment won't scale properly. Looks good in model space then when I switch to PS to plot they get tiny... can't even read them.

Have you checked this?

Hi there,

First of all, thank you for the reply.

Secondly, I did check this and it was off. I turned it on and no change was noticed.

When I open these files in 2014 I see my stationing... not sure if that bit of information would be helpful but there it is. Thank you so much!

Do this:

1. Make sure the toggle I showed you in the image is turned off.

2. Change your drawing annotative scale to something other than the one you are going to use.

3. Turn the toggle on again.

4. Change the drawing scale to the one you're using.

5. The objects should change to that scale. If nothing happens, do a "regen".

I tried this suggestion and it does not work...

Not sure if I said this or not but, I am seeing the station change when I am in model space and I change scales... when I toggle to paperspace is where I lose the scaling of the stationing.

Thank you! MSW

Click on your viewport and open "properties". Ensure that the standard scale and annotative scale are the same.

It appears I had a corrupt viewport. Once I created a new VP the alignment scaled properly!
