Label formulas in Profile View for Network Structure - Is the Y exageration available ?

Hi all,

Trying to adjust the label to be at the bottom of the structure with formulas :

Is there a tag available for the exageration in the profile view so i can adjust the values in the delta Y so it gets scaled up and apply the exageration ?

I can't change the anchor point because we've got several set of labels that need to be inserted at the top already (For the buble identifying the structure) and then the bottom for the Inverts.

Sorry mobile formatting.

-((({structure height}/2)/{drawing scale conversion})*vertical exaggeration -from view style-)

that should get the tag to the bottom from a middle insertion.

Sorry I should have been more clear. It will come from your profile view style. The graph tab and the value is the vertical exaggeration. I don’t believe there is a way to have the structure label read that. Most firms use a fixed exaggeration value across profiles so didn’t want to give a constant without knowing your setup.

for example mine is 8

Gotcha

Yeah i noticed that dividing my calculated value with the Y exaggeration value makes my label position correct.

I dont want to create a formulas and styles as per each exagerration gona be a lot crowded

I am not sure what you are trying to do.

Can you provide a better sketch?

Hey hi @ChrisRS

I'm trying to have those lists of inverts per structure under the structure when i insert them

The thing is that i've got already another label that is a buble that gets inserted at the top

So i cant really change the insertion in the template it's either i chosing top or bottom

Not sure if this helps .... tell me if i'm not that clear ill try to put in a printscreen

Now here i did dragged the lower label but i'd like it to be placed by itself underneath the structure

That's what i'm trying to do

Hey cyberflow,

as you've found out yourself: the vertical exaggeration is not available in the expressions as it is a profile-view property that doesn't really have anything to do with the structures/pipes per se

(I'm with you that there should be a way to have the vertical exaggeration be recognized - it would be so much better!).

What I ended up doing in my template is to create an expression that reflects the vertical exaggeration for each "common" exaggeration that can later be referenced.

E.g. for 10 times vertical exaggeration:

{Zeichnungsmaßstab-Konvertierung}/10

This is painful because you have to create styles for every exaggeration that you want to have.

I've limited it to the most common ones (1, 2, 10) and have three copies of each style now.

Stupid, but it works.

Hi @cwr001

That was my logic too but we'd have to crowd a lot of our styles like that
And we're in the process of simplifying everything, so it's a no go for us.

Well well !

I've found a way to put the label at the bottom and top !

In the template parameters i can specify to add "below"

And then i use the "Structure Dimension" in the anchor point inside the label

And tadam everything anchors correctly !
