Hello Guys,

I would like to import .shp files into AutoCAD Civil 3D. I am using mapimport command and imported the data as polygons. The file was imported successfully but the attributes associated with the data were not displayed. The data files are attached for reference please. Could you please guide me, which steps am I missing while importing the files.

Best Regards

Saad

Hi Saad,
Did you remember to "Create Object Data" when you MAPIMPORT'ed the Shapefiles?

Oh, and also you might want to check "Import Polygons as Closed Polylines". Then you'll see the Object Data.

Saad,
I'm digging in to the folders and I see your screenshot which shows "Text Missing While importing the .shp file into Civil 3D".
After you MAPIMPORT in the linework you'll need to create a >>>Map Annotation Template<<< to label the linework with OD.

Hello Dave,

Thanks Dave for your quick response. That video was really helpful . The issue is resolved .

I missed the steps to create template using mappntext command. I am new to Civil3D and basically using other planning software . But the other planning software runs on the Top of AutoCAD Civil 3D.

In the end, once again Special thanks to you .

Best Regards

Saad
