IFC Export for Navisworks

Hallo zusammen

Hello everyone
How can an IFC be exported from Civil 3d that can be used for coordination in Navisworks.

The IFC created looks faulty in Navisworks as shown below. Another screenshot shows the same IFC with a different program. The transfer to the customer is intended with IFC files and not with DWGs.

Two things you can do:

Go to settings --> Dateireader --> IFC and set "Conversion method" to "Older Version (v1)". That's the not so clean way as this conversion method is obsolete.

The other way is to follow these steps. It's a bit of extra work but it gets the job done, usually.

I don't know why Autodesk isn't able to implement this properly (as opposed to most other companys that sell IFC-viewers) but that's the reality we have to deal with. 🙂
