I am using Hydraflow to calculate detention utilizing the underground chamber option. The chamber rise is 3 feet because I'm using a 36" pipe, but when I run the calculation it allows the stage to rise to 4.38 feet. How is this possible? The stage can't rise higher than the top of the pipe. Am I missing something?
Nevermind. I figured it out. It's based on the fact that the pipe has slope, so on the upper inlet end of the pipe, the pond stage would technically be 4.38 ft compared to the lower outlet end of the pipe.
