I'm currently working on a Dam Breach Analysis and I need to pull elevations along various cross-sections of the stream. I have about 20 cross sections, anywhere from 500-1500 feet long, that cross the stream. What I am trying to get is the station along each cross-section and the corresponding elevation. This typically ends up just being the distance between contour lines, since those are the easiest elevations to determine. I can do this manually by simply measuring the distance to each contour and having a 2-column spreadsheet with X and Y coordinates. However, I am sure there is a simpler way.
What I've done so far is this: make each cross-section line an alignment, and then create a profile view for each of these alignments. I have a visual depiction of what each cross-section looks like, but I really just need the data in a spreadsheet. Does anyone have any ideas for how to achieve this in a more efficient way?
P.S. This is my first post on here, so I apologize if I didn't include enough/necessary information. Please comment and let me know if you need more info.
