How to number sequence in Civil 3D (2022)table?

Hi, everybody.

I'm using the way to create a table in civil 3D 2022 (pipe network). However, I have a problem that I can't number the ordinal numbers (1, 2, 3, ......), colum Number ID, of the rows in the table? Please guide me how? Thank you.

You could supply each pipe with a sequential number as its "Description" and use that in the table.  Or use the pipe "Name" for the sequential number.

Supposedly this can be done with the Project Explorer addon. I haven't tried it, but according to @TimYarris the most requested feature for C3D's ability to customize tables has been implemented.

I would probably go with the pipe name as well.  For future you, you can edit the pipe name template to just number pipes 1,2,3,etc by changing this default in your template just to next counter.

I took a look at the project explorer object sets tables, and don't see anything to fit this need aside from using the pipe name.  No general sequence (1,2,3,etc).

You mean Autodesk said an Idea was implemented that wasn't? 🤥 

But to be fair, it's the ability to edit the table as an AutoCAD table that would allow for the sequencing. Whether that has to be done every time the table needs updating is a question I cannot answer. 

But the idea of using pipe names is really the only way to do this, but if the pipe name is already being used and/or cannot be used for this purpose then the OP has no easy way.  Maybe use Project Explorer to export the table to an Excel file, add the sequencing there, and make an AutoCAD table that references that Excel file?

"RenamePipeNetworkParts" can easily rename the pipes using a defined naming scheme.

Project explorer object sets add a ton of flexibility to generate tables that are not part of the normal Civil 3d tables.  However, I don't like the idea that I now need to train people in two separate ways to generate tables.

Welcome the world of Autodesk! /s If anything, just train on the Project Explorer method to create tables and ignore the decades old method.
