How to make profile from as dyanamic

Hi i'm using Civil 3D 2019 version,

I created a profile for my alignment using the "Profile from file" option,

But when i'm seeing in profile properties it is showing as static ( screenshot attached ),

Kindly let me know how to make my profile as dynamic, if i'm changing any elevation in my txt file it should update in civil 3d. 

Any help will be greatly appreciated,. Thanks in advance.

Hi Sateesh,

Only surface profiles in Civil 3D are dynamic. The surface profiles updates automatically as the surface changes.

Layout profile such as profiles created from profile creation tools or best fit profiles or profile from file are not dynamic. But still you can make the changes on the go as you wish using edit profile geometry. Edit profile geometry cannot be done with dynamic profiles. They only be used with static profiles as in your case.
