How to calculate greatest length/distance within a closed polyline/polygon

Hello, I'm wanting to find a way to calculate the max or greatest distance within a closed polygon object and can't seem to find anything on the matter. The only method I can muster is to manually draw a circle starting at the geometric center of the object and find the 2 points at greatest distance that way.

Convert the object to a Parcel and the label will be placed at the centroid of the object. I'm not sure what your trying to do here, can you give a picture, or something.

Thanks for the reply. Attached is an example of what I'm looking at, I'm wanting a quick way to calculate the longest linear distance across a closed polyline object like the one attached. In this example I found it manually to be 30.9 meters.

I can't think of an easier way to do that without some sort of programming. Short of what you are doing right now.

If you were to consider third party add-ons, DotSoft's C3DTools contains a Figure Extended Information tool that reports and labels extended info on a selection set of figures.  This includes the maximum distance between points like your image shows.
