How to build a surface from block reference?

Not applicable

I have a lot of cogo points with elevation. However, the cogo points was converted to  block reference within my file now. They still contain elevation data. How could I build a surface very quick from them? ThxCapture-5552131231.JPG

I would probably do the following:

Dear Friend,

Create a surface.

In the definition drop down use drawing objects.

Thanks

A lot depends on how the block is defined and what elevation they are inserted at. If none of the suggestions above help. Post a drawing with a few blocks in it so we can see what you've got.

As you can see there are a number af ways to deal with this issue. Along with the good advice above note also that there are options to easily convert them to cogo points. If description keys are set they will be used to provide the correct symbols and layers.

Go to the Home tab, Points dropdown menu and note the options to convert acad, ldd and other blocks to C3D cogo points.

Click on the symbol here in the propterties panel to convert the cad block to a point, express tool dosent work went i try it. Hope this is helpful for anyone reading.

I just uses Data "DATAEXTRACTION" tool and save x,y,z postion. You need to remove the first row and save as "CSV (Comma Delimited)".

Assuming they are block with attribute, they can be sent to ascii file via DATAEXTRACTION, then imported as point file

No need, just use the Geometry XYZ Position. if the Z value is missing, you can use the text value to fill in the Z Position beside the block. Text value can be sort by using it own XY position and sort it in excel.
