How can I set a default SITE when creating new featurelines?

This is a fairly new issue for me - as of the last month or so I belive, so I'm thinking that maybe something has changed in a service pack, or some other kind of update.

Before, when I would create a new featureline, using the "_AeccDrawFeatureLine" command (clicking the button from the ribbon), the Site would default to one of the Sites in my drawing (I think it would default to the last site used when creating a featurline), but now it defaults to <None>. I now have to click the dropdown and choose a Site every single time a create a new featureline (which is extremely often). Occasionally, I'll forget to choose a site, which wreaks havoc when I end up with half of my featurelines in the correct site, and half of them in <None>.

Is it possible to make AutoCad not default to the <None> site?


I've had several similar issues creep up in the same timeframe as this one. For example, in some of my drawings, when I create a new pipe in an existing pipe network, it defaults to a blank pipe style, i.e. newly drawn pipes are invisible until I go to the Pipe Network Vista and change the pipe style. Is it possible that something has gotten corrupted that would cause a lot of "blank" default settings?

@cfabre You didn't have the 2 UI files to replace? C3D wouldn't work without them, so perhaps you didn't look in the correct place. You must replace all 4 files.

Jeff you are correct - I did not notice the UI files are found in a different folder. One day I will learn to read all the directions...

So it does work now as it should. Thanks - that was extremely aggravating.

I replaced all 4 files and still no fix... Does this only work on new drawings? I've got all the other updates (sp2, etc.) installed.

the no site FEATURE is awesome.

however, sometimes it is not awesome, such as when creating grading objects, as EACH time I have to set the site, which is rather annoying

Thanks for the fix guys.  That was so aggravating and now it is fixed!
