help starting up!

hello could anyone spare a minute to help with a few things for a newbie?

1. I have just installed Civil 3d, it appears to be a US version and I am from the UK. How do i get the UKIE kit all set up and displayed in the tool palettes as standard?

2. Also I was informed by Autodesk that the serial number determines which country style the software will display, but mine seems very much the US version, how do I convert it to the british version so it says 'levels' instead of 'elevation' etc?

3. I have an Autodesk account obviously in my name, but I purchased the product using my work credit card under a different name. I typed my colleagues name into the billing information ONLY, and now every time i log into my profile my name has changed to the billing name. It will not let me change my name back to my actual name in the edit profile secton???

thanks

Welcome to the board.

You should be able to run the installer again, but only to update the settings.  There will be options in there to re-configure your software to include the UKIE stuff.

Thanks for your reply Steve

I think some of the problems I'm having are to do with buggy preinstalled windows 10 refusing to update

Can you tell me how to get the display British ie use terms like chainage and levels? My program is very US configured and auto desk said the serial number I purchased determines this but it is still the US version

Cheers

Hello Paul,

there is no langauge selection or langauge pack available for Civil 3D, so you are not able to just switch to another language set up.

To fix your issue you will need to uninstall the international English Civil 3D from your system and re-install it with the UK English version.

To conduct a clean uninstall check this knowledge article: http://knowledge.autodesk.com/article/2016-Resolving-installation-issues-with-a-clean-install-of-Aut...

To download the UK version of Civil 3D 2016 follow these links:

Additionally you can install the Country Kit for UK & Ireland from here: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad-civil-3d/downloads/caas/downloads/content/civil-3d-co...

Regarding to your account settings this needs to be fixed by our account management team.
I will create an according support case for you.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Karsten.
