Hi, I guess this is a pretty standard solution, but I can't figure it out by myself. I have several hairpin bends where I would need curves with more than 180° angles, is there a way I can modify the geometry of my alignment this way? The only way that I found is to create two separate curves with a short tangent between them...
Thanks, Tom

I want a curve (hairpin bend) that has more than 180 degrees change in direction. It doesn't work with 2 normal tangents since they don't meet at a point. Like this:
But you don't have that geometry in you file. where do you want this and what radius are you looking for?

you cannot create a curve without a PI, however you can construct/ trace the tangents with acad lines us circle ttr then use three point curve in alignment tool bar
of course you can draw the 3 point direct and adjust

PS: after the tree point curve is created you can change to free in the alignment properties

I really like your code set style for cut and fill display

Thank's, that was the answer I was looking for, but what do you mean with "free" in the alignment properties?
I designed it a couple of years ago, someone in this forum helped me aswell back then haha 🙂
The alignment creation tool bar offers different types of curve restraints, Free, Floating and Fixed.
In your circumstance you cannot create a Free curve because the constraint needs two tangents that are connected at a PI.
So that leave Floating and Fixed. Either could have been used in your circumstance, but I chose Three Point Fixed. Fixed is just that you cannot change it graphically.
On the alignment tool bar you can show the properties of segment ( sub entities) and make adjustment to parameters ; radius and the like. There you can also change the type ( not always ) to Free and then you can change it graphically if desired.
