Grading optimization and Corridors

I have a dumb question (I think....). I'm starting to try and learn to use grading optimization, and am wondering why corridors can't be incorporated into it. To use it, you set curbs and sidewalks, etc. Those are already incorporated into a corridor model. Am I missing something?

I had the same question when I started using GO. My thoughts are:
1. GO is new and still in development.
2. GO and Corridors are different tools for different jobs. GO is for early viability work when a design has not been finalised. Corridors are for when the scheme design (road layout, lot boundary location) have been finalised and a more detailed model is needed.

Corridors give exact results while Grading Optimization gives more-fuzzy results. You can extract the outer features from a corridor and use those as exclusion zones in Grading Optimization.
