Gis streets and road labels

Hello,

Many times on my projects I am asked to provide labels of local roads and streets. I have search the web and could not find anything and asked various county representatives if the have any gis data on this and they said, "No".

I was wondering if anyone out here knows of some links that I can try.

You're killing me. Don't they have Google in your part of the world? Try "GIS data, FAD City, FADland". Every country, state, county, city, province, and administrative district in the world has piles of downloadable GIS stuff.

Yes, there are lots of gis data available but no local streets and road info.

Hello,

 I am looking for Sonoma County, California nad 83 navd 88 zone 2. I would like local roads and street and if possible creeks. If you can't find creeks thats ok.

Here's a few. When you download the shapefiles, they usually come with a "PRJ" file which gives the coordinate system. If it doesn't come with, you'll need to look for that information in the website.

To add to what @Pointdump gave you, here is what I use for any road or street in the US.  Area and Linear Hydrology is available also (Lakes and Streams).

Its the US Census website, great resource for this type of Data.  The data is available in ESRI *.shp file format
