Geotechnical Module 2016 Database

Hello all,

I am trying to share a geotechnical module 2016 database with someone else on a different computer. Where is the database automatically saved by the module? The files found here: "C:\Program Files\Autodesk\ApplicationPlugins\AutodeskGeotechnicalModule2016.bundle\Contents\Databases" say that they haven't been modified since 5/14/15, but we modified the database today (10/2/15)!

Has anyone encountered the problem of not being able access a database that was created on someone else's computer?

This is my understanding of the database location for 2016.....mine also has the last modified date as 14/05/15; must be the  way it is...!!!

Did you try the database on another user's machine?

Hi

The geotechnical module is designed to use the local database, it is normally installed here C:\Users\"youlr login"\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server Local DB\Instances\Geotechnical Module.

However if you want to have a shared database I would recommend using HoleBASE SI, geotechnical modules on different machines then link into the same data.

That's interesting @Anonymous as I was advised by Keynetix support that this was the location when I enquired about backing the database up.

Is the folder that you have identified the one that needs to be backed up or is it as I had been advised?

Hi Neil

You will need to back up the one I've said 

%localappdata%\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server Local DB\Instances\Geotechnical Module

The files in the autodesk bundle folder are just the orginas, they are copied and updated in the foldr above.

We tried copying the files and replacing the ones on the other computer but it didn't seem to work.

Hi Gary,

it helped me a lot to find the database location, but still in my new profile it has username and password issue and I can't establish new connection too.

can you please help me with this too?.
