I have captured the Bing map image as an object but it still won't print. Get the following message that the, "Online map will not be printed. Must capture an area of the map as a map image object." Has anyone figured out how to get C3D to print the map image object?

G,
More information please. What version and service pack? What steps exactly? And a screen shot of the message would be good, too.

The geomap image prints with no issues for me - I think the area has to be captured via paperspace and also make sure the image is on a printable layer.
I'll take a look on Monday if no solution is found by then

Hi,

Can you please show a screenshot from that message, and let us know when you get it. From my experience when I start _PLOT or _PUBLISH AutoCAD does not tell me anything about what is plotted or not.
And please let us know your Civil 3D release, because the first version of BingMaps in AutoCAD did not allow the user to plot the imaginary at all (version 2014), plotting of BingMaps images was available since AutoCAD release 2015. So in case you do have version 2014 then you have to go a different way.

Thanks for the tip to make sure the geomap image is on a layer that will plot; my image was hiding in plain sight on layer 0, but it was displaying on screen despite the vpfreeze setting for that layer in our drawing, otherwise I might have suspected sooner that was keeping it from plotting.
Glad that worked - I just always put the image on a specific layer (set up in my template)
