frames and labels

I have a drawing that has 40+ view frames. in paper space I would like to have text that states the beginning and ending station of the view as part of my title. I have adjusted the view basic label to give me this information but in paper space I can not see that label. I have adjusted the PS view and made sure all layers were on and thawed but still could not see. I tied to make a field but could not find the proper value to populate the field. Any help is appreciated.

Could you upload your drawing as DWG (you can delete all from the drawing, except the necessary content)? Do you have 40+ layouts or 40+ viewports on the same layout?

I'm not sure why your label isn't appearing in PSpace, but to create a FIELD with your view frame name...

Field > Object > Select View frame > Name

thanks for the tip but that just gives me the name (VF 1 ect) not the stationing. I tried picking the label as the object but did not see the actual content as an option

I misunderstood. When you mentioned changing the VFrame basic label I thought you'd named the frames based on station limits. Apologies

Hi @l_canning 

Civil 3D Viewframes are not visible in the Plan Viewport Type, this is independent of any layer or style settings! please see below screen captures to clarify what I mean. 

since, we want to keep the Viewport type correct (Plan)! unfortunately that means we can not have the Veiwframe Labels show up! 

A common work around is to use the Create Sheets command to name the Layout Tab with the station range, then use an AutoCAD Field to capture the Current Tab name per screen captures below!

thanks i have used the field and ctab variable before. Is there anyway to get that value into  the tab now that the tabs have already been created or do i have to remake all the tabs?
