Formation Surface

Hi,

I'm trying to prepare a formation level surface to model the underside of construction build-ups. When I add the formation links surface, I'm getting a very jagged surface (see attached).

I'm using the UKIE carriageway sub-assembly in Civil3D 2023.

I have tried to add point codes to the underside of the capping layer (CCP4 & CCP3) to try build in some definition to the surface and add them as featurelines to the corridor surface but the depths don't pull through correctly and I'm unsure why, each one of the 4 sub-assemblies is a different depth below the proposed despite consistent build-ups in the inner and outer sub-assemblies. Can anyone offer some advice?

Many Thanks,

Jamie

Hi @Jamie_Carroll9SC46

I think its corridor surface definition issue.

Did you try to build your formation corridor surface with links? (not points).

Tick also the box "add as break lines" in the corridor surface settings.

Hi,

Yes I've tried both methods and also a combination of the two. Neither option seems to work.

I have another corridor using the same sub-assembly in a different model that works fine so I'm confused what is causing the issue.

Thanks,

Hi @Jamie_Carroll9SC46

Can you share your file?

Is UKIE carriageway sub-assembly part of a country kit (maybe UK?)

What are the surface edit definitions? Try creating the surface with just the information from the Corridor.
