I'm trying to bring in contours that I created in AutoCAD Map 3D from a raster image .tif. When I bring them into Civil 3D they have no surface elevation to them, despite having that data in AutoCAD Map 3D. Does anyone know the correct way to export out the data and import it into Civil 3D so that I can create a surface from the polylines?
Thank you

Ah yes. So, when your export them out of Map, you MUST add Elevation from the Data tab, Select Attributes button. This will map the elevation.
If you would like me to record my screen to show you how, please attach the drawing with the contours and I will gladly show you how.
I have just been exporting out the current map to DWG, am I missing a step where I can just export out the contours and then select that attribute?
The drawing attached is an empty drawing. Did you forget to save it?
I see what it is. It's FDO data. Can you attach the shapefile?
Oh man. Ok. Let me dig up a shapefile and then I'll create the video. Stand by...
Appreciate your time and the help Todd! That is exactly what I was looking for!
Good video Todd!
