Excavation volumes of Pipe Network

Hello,

I have designed a sewer network on civil 3d and i want to calculate the volume of excavation which would be required for the pipe network. I have elevation of ground but cant find a way to calculate the total quantity of Excavation required.

2 method

1- grading volume : (you already have bottom elevations, existing elevations)

2-use expression (you already have width , depth of excavation , )

In your formula, why did you add the inside diameter of pipe to the outside diameter of pipe?

& where does the excavation depth come from?

excavation depth = ((maximum cover+minimum cover)/2)+pipe outer diameter or width
