Everything I paste pastes as Block Problem

Please help!

I've seen a few people posting about this problem, but nothing has helped me. I understand the difference between PASTECLIP and PASTEBLOCK, Ctl+V, and Ctl+Shift+V. This problem ONLY happens when more than one drawing is open, it doesn't matter which drawing is open, old ones or new ones, it only happens when more than one drawing is open at the same time.

  • SDI command is turned to 0
  • I tried keyboard copy paste (ctl+c, ctl+v)
  • I tried the right button copy and paste
  • I tried the commands COPY - PASTE, COPYCLIP - PASTECLIP, COPYBASE - PASTEORIG, COPYBASE, CUTBASE
  • I had Civil3D and Map3D, it happens in both, I uninstalled Civil3D, still happens in Map3D
  • AutoCAD updated to the latest version also happened in the version before
  • Windows is fully updated

The biggest problem is that once I save, everything looks fine, but when I close and open the drawing again, all those blocks are gone, even though the drawing preview (AutoCAD's Recent drawings in the Start tab) shows all the blocks as if they were there, all gone.

The workaround is that I have to XPLODE the blocks twice. If I explode the blocks once, they will be gone once I save, close the drawing, and open it back. If I explode the blocks twice, they will be there. In a regular drawing, I may have more than 25,000 lines that can turn into 60,000 lines or so, the workaround is not always too efficient.

This error only happens when more than one drawing is open.

@jorge_olivasFJ9NP Did you restart your PC yet?
Did you reset your Map3D software yet?

We can't see your commandline, can you? It was not included in your video, and that is where the information you want is being shown.  What is listed as the command being used when you "paste" in the second file? Your commandline needs to be 3-4-5 lines tall for this exercise.

Also show us a screenshot of your Map3D's ABOUT command pop-up please, and confirm your OS version.

Of course, here is a video now with Civil3D, as well as screenshots from Map and Civil about info. Thanks.

Thanks for the extra information. I cannot replicate your issue here in M3D 2023 nor 2025 (I do not have 2024). I also don't have C3D to test.

Did you restart your PC yet? I did not see an answer to that earlier question.

Did you reset your Map3D (and Civil3D) software yet? This may be your next step.

Yes, sorry. I restarted the computer and also updated Windows. I uninstalled Civil3D and installed it back again, I did not uninstall Map3D, but I did Reset Settings to Default.

Ok guys, I figured it out. I had a third-party program installed called VitroCAD, this program is an Add-in. Even if you uninstall AutoCAD and then install it again, VitroCAD "sticks" to AutoCAD once you launch it, any version of AutoCAD, even if you reset AutoCAD settings to default. Hopefully, this information may help somebody in the future, with any other Add-ins issues like PVCase, etc.

Thanks for your help!
