Hi, i was trying to insert a turnout into a rail alignment and its coming up with an error message saying "Current alignment has no elements" i did a search for this issue and i tried to audit the drawing for errors and there was none and i checked masking. It was working fine for me before i was able to insert turnouts, im not sure what has changed in the meantime. I would be grateful for any help / suggestions. See attached image of error message. Thanks, Rob.Civil 3D Error Message.jpg

During training I often see students will create an alignment and then close the toolbar. When they want to edit that alignment, they mistakenly use the Alignment Creation Tools again, instead of selecting the existing alignment and using Geometry Editor.

Hi @robert.conwayC5N5Y ,
Can you try copying all the drawing data to the new drawing?

Also, you can try copying the alignment and edit it again?

Probably already sorted out but just in case.
I had the same issue and was because accidentally i changed my alignments from "Rail" type to "Centerline".
After returning to "rail" type the error message disappeared
