Why does C3D assign an elevation of -1.0000E+20 to poly lines created from points with elevation of "property not set"?

Can you post an example drawing? An elevation of -1.0000E+20 would put you through the planet and probably outside the solar system. I'd need to see that to get a handle on it.

Hi Mark,
Where are you seeing "property not set"? I've never seen that.
Usually, a polyline created from COGO points takes the first point's elevation.

Dave,

I believe the OP was referring to this. However I don't experience what the OP is saying. Starting a PL from that point gives me a PL with 0.00 elevation.

Hi Allen,
I tested just now creating a polyline by snapping to COGO points with "Property Not Set" elevations. I get same as you, elevation = 0.00.

I thought I remember an issue way back when that if you were not looking in true plan view, like it was slightly rotated in 3d that the elevation wouldnt work correctly?

Have you confirmed that your drawing is in PLAN using world coordinate system before trying to add your polyline?
