Editing a Section Plane

-Using Civil 3D 2025-

Created an alignment

Created sample lines and then created section views of the sample lines on my alignment.

The sample views when created have a "section plane" line that represents the surface.

Is there a way to edit that linework without changing the actual surface?

I want to clean up the lines.

I know I can manually trace the line using the PLINE cmd but would rather not go through the hassle.

("Section plane" wordage found along the ribbon on the right when the line is selected)

Select the Section View, Go to Modify Section and select Edit Section Geometry.

Once you select that you will be asked to Select a Section. Select the ground line. This will open the Section Editor where you can edit the Elevations and/or Grades.

Before starting this you should decide on what vertex(s) you want to edit since there is no glyph to show you where you are on the section.
