Dynamic Profile Banding/utilities from alignment

I am currently working on a project (of smaller scale) and we need to create a profile (image 1) and need to have the banding below it as well as the utility markings above it (image 2) both to be built in dynamically to be adjusted based on plan view.  We have been placing blocks (image 3) at each utility crossing, wetland boundary, property line, etc. but this is very time consuming especially with our bigger 10x scale project coming up shortly. I am trying to figure out a way to create a profile with dynamic banding and utility markings based on which line/block our alignment is crossing and automatically be inserted into our profile.

We have been using lisp routines as well to kind of expedite the process of redundantly inserting blocks into plan view but it only saves a portion of the time.

If there is any additional information I can provide let me know. Any opinions/ideas are appreciated.

Hi Jhb3469,

I would say yes we can create this type of profile, band style, utility crossing in profile view & Annotations.

I have worked and prepared similar type (I would say 70% similar) of template and project in past.

1. For utility crossing annotation & utility symbol on profile should use pipe network option to model pipes and same can be easily bring or link into civil 3d profile and annotation can be added in the same way (as per your images)

2. For bands we should use combination of profile band and pipe networks band set to have unique or standard band set as per requirements.

Very first thing is we should create the profile style, profile view style, annotations style, utility style and bands type as per company layer and standards before start the work once you have this template than its very easy to generate the engineering plans.

Hope this information helps you.
