Dredge Bottom Corridor Help

Hello, I have a dredge project that I am doing and the the corridor I am using works for most everything expect on thing. I don't want my corridor to fill in areas that are lower that the specified elevation (-46). So if a portion of the channel has elevations lower than that, I want my proposed surface to tie into the -46 and then leave the existing lower elevations as it. I will attach a few photos for reference. Is there anyone that can help with this? My corridor has linkwidthslope subassemblies that are connected with mindaylight (3:1) assemblies. Please see below. Thank you in advance!

Hi @keaundavisonXGKK5, now that you already have a corridor that is filling the areas you don't want to be filled, use it to create a top surface, then use the analyze tools to find the intersection between the top surface and the EG surface. You'll get polylines that go around those areas.

 

Use those polyline as a target and re-do your assembly using ConditionalHorizontalTarget subassemblies. Use the Found branch to let Civil 3D what to do when it founds those polylines along the corridor.

I am away from my computer.

You can type MINIMUMDISTANCEBETWEENSURFACES. Follow the command line instructions.

 

You can use use these polylines as hide boundaries for the top surface.

How about excluding the elevations lower than -46m in the main surface.

Hi @keaundavisonXGKK5@ChrisRS is right. The tool I mentioned was that one:

I think you can use a LinkSlopeToSurface on the found branch of your ConditionalHorizontalTarget. This link should have the crossfall of the bottom of your canal (0%?), and it should point towards the inner part of the corridor. Thanks to the found branch, this geometry would show up only when the condition finds the polylines.

Make a plane surface at -46 , volume of bathymetry and -46, extract the zero contour and use as corridor base line(s)

I would think the surface is still going to gap an fill in, unless a hide boundary is placed in that location, so that it hides the proposed surface.  This boundary can be created from the MINIMUMDISTANCEBETWEENSURFACES to get it as close to the actual location as possible.

Make a -46 reference surface, then use Conditional left and right subassemblies at the Assembly origin to make decisions in reference to the -46 what to do in Cut and Fill.

This is easy,First you have to make two auxiliary wires,one is surfacelink and another is dredging length.Next you must determine whether the intersection and the point to the terrain are the same.This is followed by a simple repetition of judgment
