drawing structures using station offset transparent command

When sketching pipes & structures in a pipe network, the pipes and structures are normally connected. If you use the station offset transparent command, it will place the structures in the right location and draw the pipe center to center, but not connect the pipes. This is happening in v2022 with any file on any machine.

Technically, what is happening is that in the structure properties, some pipes are connecting but not all. Visually, all pipes appear disconnected. If i grip edit the end away and then back to the structure, the visual cleanup happens.

Thoughts?

Thanks
Kevin

Kevin,

I've recently been playing with pipe networks to use for existing (as-builts) as for both gravity and pressure, and this sounds interesting, I'd ask if you've update the parts list to the 22 version as SQL is a moving target even for me using a SurveyDB, and this kinda brings back old memories of having to re-create my FigureDB among other things. Just a thought, not solution.

I will give that a try as my laptop has certainly had many editions of c3d. However, I am also running VMs that are clean OS with only C3D 2022 installed. The issue is the same for both systems. What's odd is that some pipes are identified as connected in the structure properties. But ALL pipes are visually shown as disconnected. Weird...
Thanks
Kevin

I suggest you try this using one of the Tutorials and a default C3D profile. It the behavior happens, file a support ticket. If not, then you know to investigate your setup.

Template OOTB does the same thing. I'll do a screen video to show the issue. Everything looks great until I exit the transparent cmd then they disconnect.
Thanks

that is disheartening. Have you tried “reconnect network “

I suspect the problem is when you use a transparent command, the software does not sense the structure like it does when you mouse hover near it. Hence it doesn't respond by connecting. I have never used a transparent command to connect pipes, but if this is indeed the case, then the behavior has been this way all along and should be a known issue. Again, a support request might save you some troubleshooting.

I have not tried that. Ironic, if I am drawing pipes & structures and just pick locations on the screen, it's all connected. But if I'm using a transparent command to pick locations specifically, then the pipes are not. Going to submit a bug.

Thanks
Kevin
