does Storm Sewers have a Limitation

I keep getting an error bringing  a pipe network into storm sewers  and nothing comes in. Is there a limit? I have about 20K feet of pipe and structures

@Joe-Bouza

I ran into the same issue. As a workaround, I've been using the Export to Storm Sewers tool from the Output tab. Then, within SSA, go to File > Import > Hydroflow Storm Sewers File

Give it a shot... This actually works better in my opinion.

Greetings Joe,

Thank you for your recent forum post.  My name is Sean and I am more than happy to help you with this issue. I see from the thread that other members of the community have been working with you on this issue regarding exporting data from AutoCAD Civil 3D to Autodesk Storm and Sanitary Analysis. This is a known issue with Civil 3D 2016 and 2017. The development group is aware of this issue and they are working on a solution. Using the export to STM file is the recommended work around at this point. If you are unable to use this work-around, please share the file in question for additional evaluation.

I have subscribed to the thread though and will continue to monitor it should you need additional assistance. If you would like to communicate directly, you may do so at any time by sending me a private message in the forum.

Joe,

Couple quick questions:

1) Are you trying to bring the network into "Storm Sewers" or "Storm and Sanitary Analysis"?

2) Does the network have attached catchments?

If you have catchments, there's a bug that prevents it from opening in SSA (haven't tried Storm Sewers) if the ToC isn't set to User Defined.

Hi Brian

Storm Sewers. I get error trying edit in storm sewers and exporting an stm file. I think my network arrangement could be the culprit. I have a double barrel setup leading into a single barrel, and there a many many null structures in the double barrel side.

No catchments

My guess is it's the double barrel that is causing the issue. In Storm Sewers, each junction has to have one, and only one, outlet pipe. In Civil 3D, get rid of one of the double barrels and then in Storm Sewers, for that pipe, you can change the number of barrels.

I split the network into three separate and got the export to work. Now, I'm not even looking for a hydraulic design. I'm wanting to estimate pipe by depth and that tool isn't even coming close to the right answer

The Civil 3D estimating tools or the Storm Sewers?

Storm sewers

I want length of pipe and structure by depth of trench.
