Divide or split a surface

Hello everyone,

 

Is there a way to divide or split a surface in 3?

Hi @arpenteur

 

Unfortunately there's not a tool that will simply do that. It really comes down to all the data defining the surface. That data could need to be split / divided as well to perform it.

 

The simplest solution would be to create an outer boundary on your surface, then make another with same data and a different boundary.

If you can't or won't recreate it all from scratch to accommodate the division, then probably best to make 3 boundaries, and paste the original overall surface into three new separate surfaces and apply one of the boundaries to each.
