Design Driveways/Roadways with Alignment Tool

I'm a little outdated, but for many years have designed me driveways and/or small roads by first drawing polylines and filleting the lines with required radii.  

Is there a better practice of using the alignment tool to force minimum curve radius where the tool disallows drawing certain pvi's in order to meet the min radius requirements.

Can any of you point to some good material for growing in this area?

Hi,

You can set design criteria in Alignment properties to warn you about non-standard curves.
