Design Center fatal error when importing layouts

When I use Design Center and try to import layouts from one open drawing into another open drawing I get a fatal error and C3D crashes.

Both drawings are open in C3D 2022.

By the way did Autodesk delete user support?  I didn't find it any more on their website.

Thanks!

Hi @longislandengineeringllc, that's too bad... that's a known issue. It has happened to me since using C3D 2017 when trying to get the layouts that are automatically created by the C3D tool "Create Section Sheets". It always crashes.

What I have seen is that C3D locks the sheets but I haven't been able to unlock them.

Let's see if someone can answer with a solution for this.

Best regards!

Autodesk support was able to figure this one out for me.  Here is a paste of the steps.

----------

I was able to find out what is crashing the Layout Import process. You have a few rogue objects in model space that when removed permit the process to complete without crashing.

I opened your wetland file and did a bunch of typical testing, purge, audit, etc with no success. I then clean up model space with this workflow.

In model space zoom to the drawing extents.
Hit the CTRL and the A keys at the same time to select all objects in the drawing. Hold the SHIFT key down and use a crossing window to deselect all of the visible objects in the file.
In the Properties dialog or quick properties dialog use the dropdown arrow to note the objects that are not displayed but are in you file.
Hit the Delete key and save the file. Note at the command line you deleted 27 of the total 1553 objects that were in the drawing file.

After removing these objects I was able to import the page layouts without any issue.

Here is a video of the process.

after deleting the rouge objects the DC import layouts worked with no issue.

Hi @longislandengineeringllc. Good to know that!
I'll try with Civil 3D section view files. Those are the ones that have given me problems many times.

Best regards!
