DESCRIPTION KEYS

I am trying to create descriptions keys for my field data but some field codes get omitted. I would like codes such as EP, EP1, B EP, E EP, B EP1, E EP1 to be in one layer under one description key. I have tried creating a description key EP* for the codes above but the codes B EP, E EP, B EP1, E EP1 do not get applied by the description key. What is the best format to use in such a case?

Try having your line work code at the end not the beginning of your raw description. I personally only use the curve & special codes as I have auto line work on. I also don't place points that are for line work on layers as they get captured in a point group, not to say you can't if you so choose. Once you flip your line work codes then your EP* will work like a charm.
