Task:  Generate dredge cross section sheets with all possible data references in one drawing.  What is the best practice to generate cross section sheets with all possible data references to minimize sheet cross sections drawing file?

eate a dedicated Cross Section drawing and data reference the corridor into it.  That will pull in any alignments utilized to build the corridor.  Then data reference any pipe networks, pressure networks, or any other surfaces.

Once you have that, create a sample line group of the appropriate alignment and then cut your sections.  I do this all the time....

  1. To keep the original modeling file smaller and more manageable
  2. To allow others into the modeling file while I work in the Cross Section drawing.

I dont know if it is smaller, but, the process I have used in the past for cross-section sheets, is xref in the file that contained the corridor, and data reference only the alignment, I was able to create sample lines and cross sections from only those two items.
