data shortcut show two different pipes when there should be one

Hi Civil 3D,

For the sake of your time, paragraph in bold is my actual question

So I data shortcutted a pipe network from a source dwg into a host dwg. I had to change the name of my source drawing for an unrelated reason but then changed back to its original name. Expectedly, in my host drawing a broken reference warning appeared. I had trouble repair the reference (no selecting new source dwg window showed up) and eventually had to delete the old reference and re-create the pipe network data shortcut. Then I was able to repair (pick source drawing and done). However, here is where the problem comes in.

I changed inverts and swapped various pipe sizes in the source dwg, but in my data shortcut host dwg plan view, both my old pipes and newly swapped pipes show up at the same time. When I list both pipes, they show coming from the same pipe network with the same name and from the same network. You can see in the attached image how two pipes overlap each other. In my profile view, only old pipes with their old inverts show up, and can't find any of my new pipes in properties/pipe network tab. I turned off all pipes and the old pipes still show up in the profile view(in the image attached, the pipes shown in profile view are all supposed to be turned off). Any idea why?

I tried to validate my data shortcut, but validating took hours and not responding (gut tells me that if only I can validate the pipe data shortcut, it will be fixed)

The project working folder is set correctly and associated.

I checked the source dwg and there are no duplicated pipes with same names. All with updated infor.

I checked "managedatashortcut" and the links seem to be linked at the right reference.

data shortcut Editor set to "name and handle" (it seems to be the only thing I can edit in the "data shortcut editor")

Any help is appreciated.

Ben

Update to my original post:

I was able to validate data shortcut and the reference seems fine for my pipe network.

Just noticed that there are duplicate for every pipe and structure in my pipe network, not just to the ones that I edited. Essentially my host drawing has a duplicate of the entire pipe network data shortcut. But under toolspace/pipe network there only shows one.

I know it's been a few but did you ever figure this out? Have the same problem currently.

There may be a zero length pipe that is not showing up in the model.  Find the name of the second pipe from the dref and search the prospector for it.
