Dashed Linetype ends are solid

When I create a custom dashed linetype, the ends are not spaced in a dashed manner. I have attached a picture that shows the issue I am facing. Does anyone know how to fix this either in the .lin file or in c3d? Thank you!

Hi @kavin.malarkannan, probably this is related to the length of the line. Did you try to stretch it and see what happens? Unless the length of the line is a multiple of the length of the patterns, it's usual that at the beginning and / or at the end the line becomes solid.

 You might benefit from using the obscure and possibly unsupported "S" (stretch?) type alignment instead of the "A" type alignment.

You would need to edit a copy of the line type definition.

I have used this successfully in the past.

Thanks! The stretch works fine for longer lines but I am running into the issue of overlap when the line is short. Do you know how to fix this? I have attached an image showing the problem.

How was the linetype created, using the express tool or manually in the ACAD.lin file.

Can you post the how the text from the *.lin file.

To me, it looks like you might need a "bigger" negative number after your text component
