Cutting a x-section in an isometric view

Hello,

Im trying to cut a cross section in an isometric view through a manhole to show the water level on the inside.

So what I did was sliced the object(s) and set the cut off piece(s) on a different layer and used a viewport freeze. The only issue with this method is now I'm showing the imaginary slice line in various other viewports which could cause confusion to clients (see PDF)

Can anyone think of a better way to accomplish what I'm trying to do?

Basically your issue is you have added another piece to the structure, thus it will always show the joint lines. I think your best bet, other than hidding all lines, is to create another structure with out the cut and place it on top of the other structure and use viewport layer visibility to control display.

Ahhh yes, that is a fantastic idea. Thank you for that.
